      Microsoft Innovation Center

The Microsoft Innovation Center in Torino, Italy (MIC Torino) opened in June 2007 and in July 2010, it became part of Istituto Superiore Mario Boella (ISMB) thanks to an agreement between ISMB and Microsoft Italy.

The center focuses on innovative projects and solutions with embedded and smart devices connected to cloud development technologies that provide smart data management.

MIC Torino is also the primary partner of the Microsoft IoT Competence Center, created by Microsoft Italy and ST Microelectronics to conduct research and development in the Internet of Things domain.

      Audience

      Startups

MIC Torino is involved in the strategic and operational activities of the BizSpark program in Italy. In particular, it manages the onboarding of all Italian startups and it holds consulting and technical trainings (hands-on labs and architectural reviews) focused on Microsoft Azure. MIC Torino also cooperates with important incubators and accelerators in Italy, creating a hub for the local startups ecosystem.

      Developers

MIC Torino offers developers and IT Pros a range of hands-on labs focused on the latest Microsoft Technologies, such as Windows 10, Windows Phone app development, and Microsoft Azure to support them in learning to develop their projects.

      Students

The Microsoft Student Partners program organizes “Academic Labs” in MIC Torino facilities. These are free training days where student can learn to use the Microsoft Azure platform and provide additional information about Microsoft DreamSpark.

      Future Coders

In May 2015, MIC Torino launched discovery sessions on Kodu for Primary School children. These labs, usually held in primary schools and during events focused on new technologies, are enjoyable and well regarded. Kodu is an engaging opportunity to expose children to programming. In the program they learn how to build new games using their creativity and problem solving skills.
